The most expensive word

meaning paid for ever

never to be taken granted

each moment each day

the price to be again paid

too many hate this word

abusing it and abasing it

while those who love it

pay over and over to keep

blood, sweat, tears, years

time is never pretty reviewed

yet the fruits found are there

wrapped up and covered

within our flag red/white/blue

never free is the word freedom!
