Forget”

How much
abuse did he take
over and
over – shouts/anger
forcing
him to leave quickly
those
tried to stone him
others
to do even worse
then in
the end beatings
whips
with cutting glass
crowns
of thorns forced
forced
to drink bitterness
finally
placed on the cross
found
uttering the words,
‘Father
forgive them …
they
know not what they do’
and we
question forgiving
which
example do we follow
remember
the wicked learn
in the
end punished by others
more
wicked than themselves
while
the righteous endured
that
lest we forget this all
‘do as I
do’ he implored
and as
Samuel said,
‘it is
better to be obedient
than to
have to sacrifice’
therefore
following the Lord
our God
and Savior as we
too must
do able to endure!
