Calling of the hawk in flight

screeching for his mate above

crows squawking just to squawk

small birds singing and chirping

occasionally an armadillo is heard

moving through the under-brush

stalking coyotes unseen felt

bobcats, rabbits in hide and seek

turkey’s gobbling and scrambling

quail, bob-whites and doves

feeding quickly and then hiding

does slowly stealthy moving

hogs grunting and rooting

simple sounds heard constant

forest sounds at the break of day!
