Bridges”

Friendships
wane and disappear
some forgotten
some destroyed
marking
a personal landscape
not
unlike abandoned bridges
some
found time to time in use
fishing
and crabbing to be done
but the
friends long away gone
marriages
which were in love
now
emptiness and all alone
none
seeking to bridge the gap
sadly
how aloneness is selfish
unwilling
to cross the bridge
to make
amends repairing ties
desolately
my tears flowing
beneath abandoned
bridges!
