Commercialized beyond recognition

this weekend always variable today

from a heathen holiday of spring

into somehow a Christian one

by John Chrysostom c. 349 – 407

when the only time  many came

to his mass or even to the church

was this one Sunday of the year

therefore adopted and changed

but how many know of history

an approach to be understood

this one most important event

of human history of all eternity

without which man would not be

for the Savior Jesus Christ

voluntarily gave his life for us

when he took it back resurrected

to be touched, eat, and converse

with first his followers present

then with the other tribes spread

who were not of this sheep fold

this was Jesus living and sharing

flesh and bone resurrected

making this the eternal atonement

to that all men/women could live

removing death from the world

an approach to understanding

especially for those seeking truth

sadly many unable to hear

blinded unable thus to see

beyond feelings unable to discern

this an approach to Salvation

our Savior – the Son of God

doing for us what none else

shamefully stolen by the world

commercialized beyond recognition!
