Drifting aimlessly upon the seas

days dragging into months-years

no ports to call home or safe known

caught among the waves restlessly

down casting eyes into the murkiness

futile attempts to reason existence

one day looking upward to the horizon

‘sail ho!’ comes the cry of others

till soon you too see the sail far away

coming closer and then yet closer

casting a line of truth-happiness

yet down casting your eyes again

missing the truth deliberately

so much offered in the ‘sail ho!’

unwilling to leave your peers

unwilling to take their laughter

drifting aimlessly upon the seas!
