Pre-heating her Dutch oven
checking carefully her dough
placing her dried fruits ready
apart from the main home
yet readily at hand to most
bread on the side boards
something for the young’uns
everything in its proper place
the Baker was as a queen
beloved and cherished
providing substance to many
while spending hours baking
cooking as well the meals
careful to keep all clean
boiling water for washing
back to checking her dough
as her Dutch oven prepared!
