Hard bitten and cold
icy blood in the veins
torn between good/evil
seeking what to know
wanting good to grow
finding yet upheaval
feeling the chill rains
forever getting old;

Then from the cold
comes another close
saying, ‘Follow me’
a brother’s keeper
a righteous seeker
allowing us to see
warmth lest we froze
giving a hand to hold!
