Deep in the woods
there’s an old tree
an apartment for birds
squirrels and others
hiding from all danger
with limbs mighty
towering above all
lightning struck often
yet it’s a good listener
so for hours or minutes
spent talking to a tree
deep in the woods
all alone with thoughts
amid the squirrels/birds
solving all my problems
deep in the woods!
