“There is a Cost”

Some say everything is free

taking what they want

caring not who owns

striving for happiness

forgetting what’s most important

obedience is the cost paid

for without this one thing

you’re not the Lord’s

can never reenter His home

our home left long ago

becoming strangers here

there is a cost without money

blessed are they who know

willingly a contrite spirit

and a broken heart!
