"Just When Feeling Out of It"

Chuck has been able to play since January – 1-2 holes from 100 yards in. With the help of his Visiting Angel (since he’s not allowed to go anywhere alone) he got out to the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Golf Club – Trident Lakes – to play one hole.

Results:

Today about 1120 on the 16^th hole a lone cart pulled up next to the gold tees. There was an assigned driver (Visiting Angel) named Hector (never been on a golf course before). The O2 wearing golfer got up out of the cart – took a couple of waggles with his 9 hybrid – hit the ball – everyone was amazed first ball hit since January – and landed on the right side of the green!! Leaving about a 25’ putt toward center of the green. His first putt was about 8’ short but second right in the center of the hole. Since the pros don’t seem to be pulling pins he did leave the pin in. Much to his amazement – and Hector’s – he got back in the cart – they drove back to the club house and this O2 golfer was completely exhausted. Just thought you’d like to know. I get to do this 2x a month if I’m up to it. Smile - chuck

Sometimes to weary to walk

from bedside to bathroom

from study to the kitchen

from computer to the bed

full cycle some days is none

then the light of sun shines

old memories of days gone

out on the golf course again

seeing old friends once more

better yet to play just one hole

green in regulation (par 3)

two putt for a true par

then completely worn out

but it happened maybe again

just when feeling out of it!
