older/new "Quake" (1989) (no photos) (1) "Lost..."

A good friend of mine was caught in this earthquake – faculty they were put on a bus to evacuate them to safety – however safety wasn’t going to be. When going through the tangled streets – the bus was attacked over and over again from those living in these neighborhoods. Not news worthy – but none the less true. These were written after speaking with her with minor modifications. c/ork 1989

not really

who I thought

I was,

somehow

I never knew

feelings

existed that

now I know,

shaken

my mind

my being

beyond today

I now begin,

was death

so close

and not

to war

I thought,

but this war

has been here

all along

while

I knew not,

shaken

I was

now I know

what I thought

I knew not

about death

fears hidden away

refusing to acknowledge

while facing myself

in life’s reality. . ."
