For longer and longer

became the days

as his eyes watered

and his sight waivered

as a minute became

but a less intense hour

as a second

a lingering haunting pause

he worked without end

as his goal was not

longer and longer

less intensified

vaguer and vaguer

what was seen

as he waited

for no one to come

and no one came

as he waited

for boredom lingered

where once had been

heated desire

sad became his continence

longer and longer

became the days. . .!
