Digging for seemed ages
deeper and deeper going
nothing seen gold or
silver
neither copper even
coal
much like today’s
preachers
bits of philosophy
rhetoric
mixing within Scriptures
just enough to be plausible
barren ground without
Father
dead ends without salvation
having left the light
for pearls
thus finding nothing-nothing
barren ground our
desert
without pearls,
diamonds!
