Tomorrow is the commemoration of the Holocaust - each year they have an event in the DC area and others around the nation. In the past I've some 36 series of poems (ranging from 10 to 20+) in the Museum in DC. This is my contribution for this year. c/ork
“The Holocaust 2018”
cji
1/26/18
(Prologue:
Each year one day
teaching new lessons
finding history is
harsh
seeking to not forget
which most don’t know
reminding via words
imagined thoughts
pain, tears, fear,
love
unable to repair
able to forgive
so many wanting
either to die/live!)

“The Power of Words”
(2018 Theme)
cji
1/26/18
Entering hallowed
space
feelings of
acceptance
so long absent in
mind
while always there
calling
now and again
screaming
finding awake while
asleep
fighting thoughts
weep
reality or just
dreaming
into this old space
falling
prompting self to
remind
imaginary my
susceptance
throughout within to
race!

“Quiet Words”
cji
1/26/18
Transmissions of
feelings
one Camp to another
lovers and families
apart
using inter powers
alive
sharing, caring of
love
embraces in memory
warm, close, emotions
only in the dark
allowed
tears stain each
cheek
transcending the
guards
over the barbed
fences
avoiding all barriers
quiet words of
emotion
whispered when close
whispered now apart!

“Shouted Words”
cji
1/26/18
Searing upon
physically
demanding more / more
guards without
feelings
far from the front
lines
without fear of
reprisal
laughing in their
roles
shouted profanities
demanding more / more
searing not our
souls!

“Liquid Words”
cji
1/26/18
Running as tears
torrents like rivers
lies and guile filled
telling one thing
doing the opposite
justifications of
evil
eliciting
fear/numbness
liquid words of
hatred
formed from the past
used still today
known
this hatred still
shown!

“Frozen Words”
cji
1/26/18
“I Love You!’ said
a line frozen there
between you and me
unbroken-unending
last said-first
thought
frozen in time-space
transcending eternity
child to parent to
child
wife to husband to
family
‘I Love You!’ frozen!
(6)
“Melting Words”
cji
1/26/18
Thawing within time
words screamed once
seemed to be iced
yet melting again
surviving all pains
enduring all hatred
melting words shown
wherein hearts grow
released from space
holding a loved one
thought forever lost
melting words known!

“Unspoken Words”
cji
1/26/18
A glance a smile
hidden from view
eyes numbed to feel
expressions silenced
minds alert – awake
outwardly fully
asleep
unspoken words there
each feeling the same
encouraging engaging
helping others to
live
all we’ve left to
give
unspoken words
shared!

“Indifferent Words”
cji
1/26/18
Betrayed by others
saying one thing
meanings of nothing
inviting to a port
rejected sent away
invited to safety
turned in to prison
indifferent words
as promised empty
guile and rhetoric
spoken to entice
ice cream in a fire
without substance
betrayed by others!

“Decisive Words”
cji
1/26/18
‘To the left you’
‘to the right you’
repeatedly said
one to the furnace
one to the chamber
one to the barracks
one to the workers
one to the slaves
one to the troops
stripped of all pride
stripped of all shame
decisive words spoken
deciding life or
death
really not life but
hell
one to escape life
one to endure hell
‘to the right you’
‘to the left you’!

“Words”
cji
1/26/18
Communications
thought
rewritten often to
justify
wavering in the winds
heated in the
furnaces
humbled in the
chambers
embraced in the
barracks
seduced in the troops
silenced in the minds
transmitted via souls
some of warmth/chills
reviving thought
forgotten
till awakening to
remind
searing eyes and
beings
words spoken/written
wondering who will
care
who will hear or
share
these communications!

feelings embraces
time
emotions carried
within
seeking escape’s
freedom
remembered memories
unspoken coming now
unbaiting to another
day!)

'Chuck' Charles J. Ingerson, CPCM, Fellow (NCMA)
Where one has been given a Testimony of Jesus Christ much has been
given and we’ve two premises:
“Now this gives us two premises. On the one
hand we are obligated and required to know the doctrines of the Church. We are
to treasure up the words of eternal life. We are to reason as intelligently as
we are able. We are to use every faculty and capacity with which we are endowed
to proclaim the message of salvation and to make it intelligent to ourselves and
to our Father’s other children. But after we have done that, and also in the
process of doing it, we are obligated to bear testimony—to let the world know
and our associate members of the Church know—that in our hearts, by the
revelation of the Holy Spirit to our souls, we know of the truth and divinity
of the work and of the doctrines that we teach. Bruce R. McConkie April
1973” https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1973/04/upon-judeas-plains?lang=eng
“Father loves us dearly each day a
new sunrise-sunset – with music and adornments – we can chose to love Him more
dearly – but being obedient to Him always – or … what? To follow the world
expecting what? Love teaches – trials and tribulations – so we too then teach
of eternal life and the Gospel of His Only Begotten Son.” Cjingerson 12/31/17

“… tis true – we’ve but a season – to grow – nourish – plant –
protect – water – correct – and most importantly to love as the Savior loved …”
