Once
more giving of one’s all
fighting
in the trenches/beaches
sacrificing
their all for others
preserving
freedoms for a nation
in all
things fighting an adversary
seeking
dominion and control
while
leaving home and family
volunteers
in the past of USA
sometimes
in conscription
always
to preserve the union
fostering
choice and agency
which
seems unwanted today
too much
responsibility for one
needing
to blame and justify
entering
slavery willingly
rejecting
the gift of freedom
tethering
themselves to others
then
blaming those who gave all
till
sold to the highest bidder
be it
drugs, satan or lusts!
