Used to be came with each

now only on certain models

some are unable to engage

some came without manuals

yet existing as something

real – tangible – there

smile when you think

for you’ve engaged yours

the brain used to be

standard equipment

now no longer it appears

to come standard

and the option to get

is being traded away

drugs – sex – crime

apathy – entitlement

and calling those with

racists – deplorable

how strange when once

it was standard issue!
