“Frogs and Rabbits (again)”
cji/cn
8/16/16
(Frogs and rabbits hopping away
across the swamp at end of day.
Hop to the left, hop to the right
trying hard to stay out of sight.
Hungry enemies, small and not
to catch them slicker than snot.)
cn
What can one say more than this
hearing a hungry snake to hiss.
After the sun’s gone down to hide
creatures of the swamps abide.
Seeking meals fully so unaware
certainly with other not to share.
Remember the tortoise and hare
In broad day-light their race fair.
No night creatures hunting them
or quicksand their race to end.
Frogs and rabbits racing tonight
fearing even the birds of flight.
Caution those who seek to watch
find yourself a very safe notch.
Very dark and quiet abounds
only the fool hears no sounds.
Frogs and rabbits to be aware
their nightly runs able to share!
