Seemed like endlessly I viewed

enemies arrayed against us

file upon file into the distance

archers, tanks, swordsmen

horse mounted and in tracks

cannons and howitzers there

hills, mountains, valleys, peaks

millions if not billions there

battle armor gleaming in sun

unnumbered were the enemy

us but a very few in our ranks

standing firm to endure to end

protecting our families

defending our religion

understanding obedience

obedient to all commandments

awaiting the battle this day

every day – yesterday’s

each morning to arise

carrying the flag of freedom

Jesus Christ our Savior

caring not the odds to fight

arrayed against us the many

worldly – evil – fence-sitters

unable to advance within

if we violate not covenants

in trials and tribulations!
