Out of
the night gasping
comes
the ice and chills
trying
to keep warmer
one
blanket then more
as enfolded
in block ice
still
colder becoming
another
blanket then two
finally
warmth begins
at first
a little then more
yet
having to get up
getting
cold all over
finally
able to shed
all four
blankets heavy
freezing
time comes on
asking
none for when
within
the ice and chills
unable
to get warmth!
