Hearing
the Master’s command
‘go and
gather all the sheep’
obedient
and long-suffering
going
amid the beasts wild
into the
midnight blackness
searching
dens of predators
beckoning
softly each sheep
offering
a safe way to home
tirelessly
patiently enduringly
‘having first
his directions*’
from his
Master’s command
gathering
the lost sheep
those
who’ve wandered away!
