Over
the years of my life I've always had mixed feelings on the 4th of
July – many years ago I wrote a series of poems* on all of the signers of the
Declaration - and it seemed I got to know them - thus each time the 4th comes
around – I remember each - and wonder what they're thinking of knowing those
like those trying to uphold freedom/liberty/the
Constitution/honor/virtue/morals/values - and at the same time those who are
trying to destroy all that they've done. We pray for the Peace we seek which can
only be internal - for the world is full of only tribulations and trials and
cannot even feel the inner peace of the Savior. Lastly we pray for Guidance as
something we all need daily - thus our personal and private prayers without
repetition sincerely imploring - and doing all we can to make it happen with
the guidance from above. Lastly, research and now a sure knowledge I know the Savior
has returned with the Father - for his Church had to be restored for Him to
return in his glory! Will the Saviors triumphant return it be soon - we've to
act like it is immediate and do as if we can plant trees to blossom within the
next hundred years.
We've much to remember - much to be thankful for - and much to be found doing our Father's will – c

“The 4th
of July”

Great and honorable
men
(supported by their
wives)
spent time away from
home
always in danger of
death
carving out a new
nation
one which was
designated
in the Old/New
Testaments
a good nation of
virtue
living the Law of
Liberty
(called God’s Law
always)
requiting themselves
fully
and to be remembered
always and forever
time
mindful of the
freedoms
which so many died
for
and so many squander
disputing history to
suit
be it slavery or
racism
having bestowed a
nation
which has allowed all
to become all that
they can
again which most
ignore
feeling entitled to
murmur
saddened and with
tears
I weep this day
always
for the sacrifices
given
so that trash can
destroy
proclaiming to their
idols
rather than thanking
God
for his many
blessings!
