The recent past and continuing today –
too many have altered history and all writings to fit their needs! Then others
choose to argue over the revisions forgetting all about the original. Thus the
Adversary gains the advantage as he is the Father of all Contention (and we
could add: hate, confusion, argument, guile, deception, revisions, anger,
murder). Here I’ll only address the disagreement of revisions and the lack of
any resolution when distracted from the truth.
In the futility of
argument – which of course benefits none but those who feel they’ve won the
argument whether with flawed rhetoric – the Founding Father’s knew quite well
what they wrote and agreed to and in deed signed their names confirming their
deaths if captured before the end of hostilities. Since none of us were sitting
in the room – one would guess you could hear the Honorable Franklin saying to
the Honorable Adams and Jefferson – “Even ten years from now men/women will
reinterpret our intentions as to what we meant for their own selfish gain.”
Peter in deed wrote such a letter to James about what he’d taught and what had
been written about what he taught.
We had men/women
(don’t believe these men were not influenced by their wives and sweethearts)
who between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution who were
trying to follow God’s Law – and believe me there’s enough evidence they knew
it quite well. And there was continuity from one document to the next – as
several who were at the June-July 1776 meetings were at the Articles of
Confederation and also at the Constitutional meetings. (Note: only one was at
all four – the Treaty of Paris, Declaration of Independence, Articles of
Confederation and the Constitution.)
The presentations of
the Federalist Papers laid out so any literate person could understand the full
intentions. Thus when current scholars decide to interpret what was meant or
intended most have a political ax to grind (and do). When the great scholars
undertook to revise the Holy Bible they made changes – but when the real
efforts began and most would turn to the 1881 Revision – they made 36,000
grammar and word changes – and as of today there are over 120,000 revisions to
the Holy Bible since that time – all for further clarity or better to meet
individual representations to prove their various points (even the earliest
Councils did this – inventing words, meanings and inserting Greek Philosophy
where they didn’t know what else to do). As Paul foretold this about the Bible
– one would guess many foretold this about the Declaration of Independence and
the Constitution.
“Revisions”

Simple
stuff to rewrite
especial
when long old
authors
gone the way
scraps
left of originals
casting
doubt on intent
changing
meanings
pelf to
dole out about
circular
footnoting done
research
sloppily done
only the
ghosts about
with
strange leanings
illogical
reasons to vent
revisions
to originals
confusion
thus to lay
many
souls now sold
simple
stuff to rewrite!
