with the Sharks”

Gaining
a window’s view
surface of
the water to see
waves
washing over me
giving
me a quick clue;
The
water is luke warm today
tepid and
smelling awful
with fishermen
nets to pull
sharks
looking for their pay;
Thrown
into the murky mess
government
ignoring us all
therefore
none to hear our call
found in
this horrible distress;
Pricked
with pins to bleed
slowly
the scent life to seal
sharks
finding a helpless meal
our
nation sacrificed indeed!
