Insidious
is this mortal test
unbidden
not able to rest
none are
doing their best
memories
able to last
drifting
unwanted past
nightmares
to be cast
wherein
no victory true
just
envy avarice to view
casting sanely
to the few
rope
with barbs inserted
glass
shattered sharp
none
found very smart
none
able to be converted
turning
off the light switches
seeking séances
with witches
playing in
the dirt converted
arguments
unable to start
unfurled
without any hitches
life
endures without ending
our test
results thus pending
outer
darkness descending
none are
doing their best
unbidden
not able to rest
insidious
is this mortal test!
(Addendum:
Worldly
views often seen
reflect justice
as mean
thus on
reality to lean
ignoring
the eternal goal
forgetting
to have a soul
worldly
views exact a toll!)
