“Was It So Long Ago”

“Was It So Long Ago”

12/7/13

Maybe just the aging
memories fading some
maybe just the culture
selfishness for most
maybe no longer taught
wanting to be PC
maybe reluctance found
the past is the past
yet some do remember
wanting to share sorrow
wanting to share hope
wanting to remember
was it so long ago
that so many care not
this Day of Infamy
December 7, 1941!

How old he was to us
there always protecting
ten and half years
short in human years
yet for a puppy many
and was loved plenty
now shedding tears
loving grateful tears
he would be expecting
Trident was good to us!

Much as the waves
on the sea ripples
even as Gilead’s balm
the slightest breeze
feelings to remind
examples able to set
happiness to share
another knows you care
friendship to beget
the Sabbath to remind
as worldliness flees
and emotions calm
soft wind ripples
much as the waves!

"Keep My Commandments"

3 Nephi 12:20 Therefore come unto me and be ye saved; for verily I say unto you, that except ye shall keep my commandments, which I have commanded you at this time, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

In all cases and all places
never changing or altering
always the same all to hear
‘keep my commandments’
interpreted to mean ‘all’
meaning one should know
without exception each
pondering the Scriptures
excluding man’s philosophy
literal and true to the test
always the same all to read
never altering or changing
in all places and in all lives!

"A Little Child"

3 Nephi 10:38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God.

“A Little Child”

cji
12/6/13

Literally taking the truth
accepting the Scriptures
being obedient in all things
to become a little child
trusting, honest, forgiving
loving, giving warmth to all
able to inherit the kingdom
stand in Father’s presence
clean, pure and worthy
a little child able to do
we’re to become likewise
through repentance always
and obedience eternally!

“Lacuna”

“Lacuna”

12/5/13

Somewhere in an abyss
forgotten covenants made
putting aside the Scriptures
accepting the lies of deceit
creating a greater void
without love, honor, virtue
forgoing family and life
ignoring the inner feelings
promptings of the Spirit
replaced with a coldness
chilling and immobilizing
becoming a lacuna cipher
nothing on the inside
nothing of eternal value
those who would destroy
killing the Constitution
killing free will or choice
committing fraud always
following that which kills
the Scriptures no longer
prayers forbidden to voice
an abyss now found here!

12/4/13

Holding back in public
yet sadness in a heart
wanting to be so strong
while weeping within
nothing ever to hide
emotions part of each
tears to shed in sorrow
tears to shed in love
tears to shed happy
when weeping within
mortality in emotions
in a heart happy or sad
holding back in public!

“Parting the Veil”

“Parting the Veil”

12/3/13

Very slender the difference
between this side and that
for the veil is sheer to some
simply reaching as it were
allowing entrance or exit
while seen and unseen
however one can feel all
if worthy and in tune to be
thus when a loved one
passes through from here
into the eternal realms
part is still with us always
feelings and memories
while allowed in prayer
as if holding hands again
for the parting of the veil
between this side and that
the difference very slender!

Proverbs 31:10 ¶Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Proverbs 31:10 ¶Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

“A Woman of Honor”

(Joyce’s Birthday)

What better can be found

in Proverbs 31:11-31 read

describing this woman today

seeking neither praise aloud

doing Father’s will always

thus maturing more lovely

as quiet roses in season

mighty oaks in strength

rushing waters so cooling

summer’s breath on the day

found in precious Joyce

each day of her life to be

a woman of honor and love

wherein rests a heart full

as today we wish to her

Happy Birthday on this day!

“Teardrop Highways”

“Teardrop Highways”

cji
12/02/13

Crossing distant miles ago
wherein many fell aside
some just too weary found
others distracted from afar
each footstep painful felt
littered with the glass of time
distinguished by suffering
filled with joys and sorrows
births, deaths and memories
loss of friends and enemies
(friends who encourage)
(enemies make us stronger)
till shown in our diaries
teardrop highways abound
wherein many still to cross
miles to go in the distance!
