“Long and Arduous”

Commencing toward a path

thin and straight at the first

then longer and crookeder

up and downs and streams

rivers and falls tormenting

cold winds and hard rains

icy hail and falling snow

never resting even once

long and arduous the path

between reality and myth

between home and atrocity

between soldier and child

long and arduous the path!

“Having Traveled”

Going here and there

life’s never ending trail

wars and war zones

combat and battlefields

helo’s and bombing

tunnels and fire fights

flame throwers spitting

spears and arrows

cannon fire and smoke

chariots and tanks

veteran’s in memory

uncertain just where

each scene changing

having traveled long

unknowing any end!

“Energy”

Sometimes left without

sometimes too much

in time of crisis often

surges and intensity

anger directing action

fear and awareness

without emotions time

their space left empty

energy expending last

remembering the past!

“Mental Laziness”

Losers having common traits

unwanted and unneeded all

winners and survivors stay

losers go away often alone

mental laziness not support

excuses and justifications

never ending failure reasons

but mostly mental laziness

something survivors without

mental awareness is found

well used and experienced

given time, space and love!

“A Restless Night”

Was there sleep unknown

restless yet found resting

revolving doors and scenes

uncensored views of past

intervening thoughts to run

yet engaged and unable

legs moving and kicking

wildly yet controlled hitting

returning again and again

till hearing a warm voice

simply saying my name

softly bringing back home!

“To Endure”

Each step in the snow drift

deeper and deeper in depth

struggling to hold the trail

landmarks disappearing

darkness in the brightness

winter blindness finding

going forth then on faith

pure and undisturbed full

knowing of eternal truth

without barriers or bounds

welcoming all who endure

with pure hearts and souls!

We must always remember that duty reminds us we are stewards of all that our Creator has entrusted to us. When we accept duties willingly and faithfully, we find happiness. Those who make happiness the chief objective of life are bound to fail, for happiness is a by-product rather than an end in itself. Eternally to be a steward

having responsibility forever

never able this to sever

to us this skewered;

Fulfilling all asked to do

never to wavier once

finding greater bunce

to our covenants true!

“Parting the Flames”

Sheer walls of fire surrounding

hundreds of feet high soaring

heat intensifying all melting all

yet amid the flames so fierce

stand the child of innocence

pure and unbending to be seen

as if by will parting the flames

seeing into life ever eternal

holding the Master’s hand

while others the same gather

soon all holding hands as one

the Father’s will to be done!

“For Those Who Do”

Many paths are open to all

some in the right direction

while most lead far away

only through obedience

can one be found to know

which is the path to Zion;

Mercy and truth are found

for those who do all things

keeping the Commandments

pure knowledge and light

can one be found to know

on the path leading to Zion!

Psalms 25: Mercy and truth are for those who keep the commandments.

“Brushed by Cold”

Still the night air chill

softly pastels of breath

tears quickly to ice

ruby red the cheeks

glistening the lights

far away a thought

once when at home

now here so alone

many battles fought

awake so many nights

days extended to weeks

the air cut with a knife

brushed by cold death

still the night air chill!

In a world of dreams

many things change

distortion and illusion

lights without source

men without bodies

women without bodies

so much unseen seen

screams without sound

yet when in the extreme

we’ve nightmares alive

no light yet all clear

as when found within

a night without stars!

Taking away all mirrors

removing all barriers

sheer is then the view

seeing into your heart;

Opening all the windows

turning on all the lights

Father in simple pureness

seeing into your heart!

Reaching beyond the veil

going into the farthest depths

clinging to the sheer cliffs

climbing beyond the peaks

extending to efforts unknown

as only a survivor can do

knowing the end is not yet

the journey just begun anew

one step at a time today

for survival is eternal life

remembering where from

knowing where then to go!
