“Bean Dimpled Road”

It was a horrible night
the East winds blew
gale and stronger force
seeping into ever crack
breaking locks on silos
one recently filled
with beans
then as a whirlwind
spreading
east to west a new road
bean dimpled for miles
this one left to rot
but unlike this one
others like in our
lives
when the strong winds
seeking weakness
using temptations
seductions and wiles
we can let them stand
or fight back – repent
choices are always
ours!
