The world is a horrible place

our earth created for us

being abused and destroyed

the inhabitants no different

havoc is having its way

none are spared the abuse;

But in the silent winds eternal

rings a voice clarion clear

‘I’m Here!’ just look and see

Father is calling us each

collectively and individually

are we listening to care?

most squandered

foolish indulgences

but none the less

in our power much

doing right not wrong

choosing virtue over vice

climbing high towers

waving the flag of liberty

giving our life to freedom

As the infant child

looks out from crib

seems so far away

the floor the sky

even the toys about

much like the chick

so high in the nest

looking over all

waiting for mother

wanting so to fly

to be within flight

taking off in grandeur

flirting with the ground

stumbling some landing

within flight is each

the infant the chick

us and them each

within flight our minds

taking in so much

our lives so full

our lives so full!

teaching so much more

but even rarer culture

where from the language

finding the little clues

one nation 2000 dialects

why this mystery

wars or storms felt

distances to far apart

learning a nation

languages are key

but more so history

digging deep in the soil!

each important for all

so easy to forget

one or all three

lest we strive to discern

who we are and why here

In the mist of steam

when the world fades

to be alone in the dream

having pulled all the shades;

The body relaxes to quiet

and the muscles to smooth

it is like in a forest silent

when nothing seems to move;

Just in the dream awakened

finding all is mist and damp

remembering forgetting

grasping into the voids!

Profusions of colors

brightness to hues

once a field overrun

violence and warfare

maybe more than once

relics of all kinds dug

while now a loveliness

wildflowers profuse

with little children

allowed to dance

in freedoms fought

and then again today

too many complain

of the flowers spread

of no usage to them

such in rarity in life

while one sits angry

children dance in flowers!

no longer to focus

only feeling for others

wishing all could feel

the lonely butterfly

a softened tear falling

never looking up around

never seeing the reflection

only the rot and filth

presented about them

pathetic and horrible

yet the child smiles

waves a little hand

vacantly in vain

trying to share warmth!

small poems of memory

small hands tremoring

even allowing the blind

beholding past the sun

as if lit by the oil lamp!

floats overhead softly

a single butterfly

seemingly fully alive

in such a deadly place

seen by the children

the elderly smile within

here in their death camp

fires of entry found

which will we choose

choices made daily

determine the goals

some worthy others …

eternally our pursuits

marking our paths

in the refiners fire

destruction or vision

Small demi-gods in fear

prancing in the streets

puppeteers pulling strings

evil acts of violence’s

politicians in full retreat

without values or cause

hating freedoms in awe

prancing a good word

mincing their thoughts

mingling bad wine

such as the witches

brewing into the night!

How often something lost

be it keys or marbles

maybe a wallet or clip

sometimes a friend gone

others a painting or song

while each Sabbath Day

things to be found eternal

most turn away denying

like keys lost someday

forgetting purpose of life

mortality to immortality

finding treasures eternal!

Hate is the closest word

in meaning to love

if someone hates you

and says it

it represents strong feelings

which transcend into love

very quickly

and in reverse

a child does this

adults more often

the child doesn’t linger

adults tend to too long

forgetting to forgive

leaving wasted feelings

in the field to harvest!

Though very young

innocence in bloom

morning glories bright

so calm amid chaos

ignoring the lights

immune to the music

listening to promptings

daily and warm in awe

a child of God knowing

not to fear the unknown

the past, present, future

calm is the child today

knowing Father’s plan

eternal and forever

for each of us to live

if we but listen softly!

puppy years 77 old

still spry and active

not liking extreme change

prefers snow to rains

likes squirrels to cats

likes friendly people

recognizing old friends!
