“Tenured”

Solicited by time invested

considered well earned

education planting seeds

while the rains came soft

a growing season passed

many more to come – go

then awaking into the morn

tenured in the universe

eternally to be prepared

time invested wisely all

obedient to the Father

tenured into the Celestial!

“Harassed”

Driven into the snows

shot at and molested

arrested and imprisoned

constantly harassed

into the night of day

across rivers and lakes

into icy screams deep

within the caves dark

protecting the sheep

the wolves in control

the sheepdog at bay

harassed by the lies!

“Hard Paths”

The direction given

which paths to walk

others denied or lost

wherein we’ll not go

forever into the deep

reaching places dark

jungles and swamps

rivers and mountains

valleys and streams

icy slopes and rain

feeling great the pain

hearing oft the screams

seeking pure fountains

where terrors stomps

and nakedness stark

mothers/sisters weep

none wanting to know

lingering within frost

hearing none to talk

hard paths so driven!

"Slivers of Light"

Off in the distance seen

only a glance or chance

appearing and reappearing

thus closer came the I

the sliver of light smaller

needing to get closer quick

grasping for air so short

as if in a dream watching

the sliver now yet smaller

running, crashing, faster

almost no sliver to see

unwilling to give up now

stretching forth my hand

into the shrinking gap

only the tip of the finger

making the crack of light

then falling into darkness

as deep sleep overcame

yet slowly to awaken

the light soft all about

having found to endure

never quitting or stopping

the sliver of light to find

finding me as I then it

slivers of light eternal

as life to who endure!

“Spoken Against Heaven”

Profane voices lifted in anger

cursing and violence filled

swearing with vengeance vile

demanding and contending

spoken against heaven loud;

Oh are found the wicked proud

their immoral behavior defending

speaking a velvet soft to beguile

walking in the earth so skilled

creating confusion and danger!

Anger arising from within

external forces engaging

rains and hails and ice

flooding’s profusions all

taking away homes in path

leaving desolations to see

breeding contention’s rage

confusion of where to turn

fierce storms found raging

stemming from inside the din!

“Perusal of the Text”

Early in the morning of dawn

or in the dying embers of day

preparing for the Sabbath some

peruse their Scriptures slight;

While others peruse them right

pondering what’s still to come

in their perusal they do pray

into the eternal light drawn!

Distorted features and pride

sadness and depression reign

disgraceful behavior is known

wherein is confusion of face

shame and evil able to trace

disobedience in laws shown

hidden in darkness and pain

thus in confusion one to abide!

“Shattering Glasses”

Diminutive sounds far away

screeching and piercingly

awakening all who are about

fear and trembling within

withering upon the slivers

shattering glasses displayed

glimmers of pervaded light

prisms of profusions color

bouncing and surrounding

diminutive sounds far away!

“They Are Corrupt”

Viciously engaging their whim

being so sure and confident

whipping others into frenzies

decrying oppression and evil

while encompassing all to self

pretending their riches not pelf

wickedly destroying as a weevil

only their self-image to please

rushing into the hellfire bent

their loftiness a pride within!

“The Asking of Why”

Answers found wandering

sands shifting as the waves

restless and ever moving

dancing glinting as a blade

mirrors of colorful profusions

delicate and yet hardened

many knowing the answers

while never the asking of why

jumping to conclusions as fish

fighting within the sea alive

storms bringing about havoc

with none knowing of the why

left floundering on the shore!

“Tired Eyes”

Seeking the sunshine to see

engaging within for pure sight

tenderness of the soul’s warmth

wherein my tired eyes do search;

Wanting a smile and not a frown

feelings of happiness not hurt

being welcomed – not shut out

found among friends not foes;

Longing over the time of ages

reading book upon book each

trying to find the wisdom of ages

desiring to see inspiration true;

My tired eyes filled with tears

wondering if I’ve offended any

or missed a needed smile lost

my tired eyes terrible is the cost!

Mixing points on a map

scattered and randomly

some to the north/west

others to the south/east

some in parallel running

others at tangents found

none within the mind

wherein order to exist

yet mazes of confusion

without names or places

given then of definition

lives thus to understand

in tangents with heaven!
