Breathings of a child

sleep overwhelming

day’s play now to end

prayers said in love

tucked in and safe

mother quiet singing

murmuring her love

woven in generations

ever softly spoken!

The desert is hot and dry

yet at night found to chill

moon far overhead

stars filling the sky

sands moving in winds

life forms moving quiet

alive and silent being

yet at night found chill

the desert is hot and dry!

“Contemplation”

Pondering all that is or was

seeking to understand the me

hearing doctrines ever varied

a semblance of indifference

difficult to comprehend inside

contemplation of all of this

leaving me stranded in space

wanting to go here or there

yet know something not right

ringing harsh notes of guile

thus to further consider

where to look and to find

only one place to really know

within the Scriptures found

with sincere prayer to grasp

the thoughts of our Father

in the teachings of His Son!

“The Fold of Christ”

Found as a sheep of the fold

hearing the Shepard’s voice

knowing where it is to belong

without temptations to notice

clarion clear the sound to be

never wavering or faltering

always firm and without guile

within Father’s fold I’m found!

“Man/Woman of Intent”

Going to seek directions

only source to be used

the Savior gave instructions

how to call upon the Father

being a man/woman of intent

hearing the truth in answer

knowing what is to be done

going forth doing as told

the rod of iron eternal to hold!

“Distractions”

Clumsiness in misdirection

loud noise and temptations

buy, sell, get, now, grab

lusts fulfilled in a moment

flashing lights and darkness

dizzy the means and the ways

distractions of the world

keeping one from the path

leading to Zion’s road today

giving false impressions

that there is no such place!

“Felicity”

Understanding and loving truth

allowing life to be intense joy

a state of well-being in harmony

finding peace within the turmoil

excited about so much to learn

contentment in knowing the who

a child of God the Father we are

where much is expected and given

while partaking in mortal probation

till one day again to live with Him!

“Each of Our Needs”

Stretching our minds to seek

opening our hearts up wide

finding how we can help all

with each of our needs to fill

we’ve to expand ourselves

inside and outside with truth

able to feel the spirit fully

tenderly and humbly to act

on each of our needs to fill!

“Now We’re Here!”

We’ve come a long distance

over years and tears of love

climbing high mountains oft

crossing flooded rivers too

finding rainstorms and snow

blizzards and hurricanes

hurdles and obstructions

but after all of this gone by

now we’re here to find you

cherishing our time with you

sharing the most important

truthfully and in humility

we’ve come a long distance!

“Becoming Prepared”

We’ve so much to do today

becoming prepared always

more to learn and then do

seeking knowledge and truth

whether older or still a youth

learning only what is true

traversing life’s hallways

with so much to do today!

“Diligent”

Quietly and in confidence

persevering in Father’s work

shirking not in our duties

dotting our ‘i’s with care

crossing our ‘t’s correctly

in the exactness of doctrine

adding nothing or deleting

presenting Father’s thoughts

so all can acknowledge

each to be diligent as one

even as the Father and Son

are one in actions and love!

“Different”

We think we might be this

then finding out maybe that

never quite what we think

for we’re to be an individual

molding in the image of Father

being pure and full of virtue

while the world want this not

thus we’re to be different

in obedience and knowledge

understanding and love

fully in Father’s service!

“Perishables”

Too many think of eggs and milk

or even meats, chicken or fish

forgetting always the trivial things

such as cars, money, houses

boats, yachts, resorts, recognitions

storing up their wealth all in vain

for all such things are perishables

enduring only for a time if that

cannot be taken with at death

while the imperishable found

to be the treasures in heaven

earned in service and obedience!

“Calling Each”

To hear the bells ringing

the organ playing softly

calling each to come in

to the Sabbath Day

worship and prayer

contemplation within

sharing whispers soft

gentle reminders past

hoping new ones to last

yet each must come

one at a time to share

gleaning hopefulness

the purpose of this life

trials and temptations

calling each to endure

holding to the rod of iron

fully obedient to Father!

“To Become an Heir”

Invited within the Scriptures pure

Having an eternal goal made sure;

To become an heir husband/wife

Inseparable even after this life;

To become an heir with the Son

When Father’s will is always done;

Finding the Plan of Salvations full

Is to eternalize everyone’s soul;

Invited within the Scriptures pure

Following the Son’s footsteps spoor!
