When sharing a truthfulness

wondering why so rejected

turning backs on the Savior

so causing great heaviness;

Aligning with the adversary

thinking not but doing so

wondering where to turn next

weighted down in the world!

obedient and staying the course

found understanding and knowing

what the Scriptures teach us all

Old and New Testaments both

Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price

records kept around the world

validated and preserved to heed

for those who take the time to read

and not be conformed to this world!

Found in goodness of service

wherein filling the many needs

having materials and directions

helping the weary travelers;

Daily at appointed places

with history all around them

turning confusion to clarity

handmaidens serving purely!

“Toothpick Brains”

Some found as being very sharp

others splintered and wasted

sometimes the same toothpick

thinking one end and yet the other;

Toothpick brains entwined thought

pondering the foolish and of naught

which is which hard to tell to see

for some are one or yet the other!

“Passing the Sun”

Clouds rushing as violent trains

hiding and sounding as thunder

passing the sun as if standing

while observing from the light

wondering which will win today

never caring the why to know

for when caught in the drift

passing the sun as if standing!

“Mounting to the Sky”

Inescapable trying to climb

going higher and higher above

while yet rooted to the earth

unknowing the impossibility

ever upwards blossoming

yet so close yet to the ground

mounting to the sky in dreams

knowing to grow is eternal

someday to reach the heavens

wherein was the seed planted

which this small flower knows!

“Precious Aloneness”

Observed from afar just today

aloneness of the deer to feed

seeing neither nor feeling fear

patient in the field where safe

part of nature and the scene

causing my awe and wonder

catching innocence at peace

in his precious aloneness!

Where small children understand

knowing the warmth from Father

going into his home to be found

knowing the Sabbath Day His

sharing with each of us to obey

learning and discerning for each

as with the small child to know

hoping we’ll not forget for them

eternal is the family in forever

starting with the Sabbath Day!

My another and I used to dance

hearing music none other to hear

finding warmth and understanding

knowing each other's moves as one

finding thoughts no other to think

giving life and nourishment full

dancing with another within love

different the ages of time shared

till enclosed as one within one

eternal and forever found as one!

Needing more time to be alone

drifting into the deepest sleep

unwilling to awake or disturb

quietly emerging and retreating

seeing darkened shadows about

merging and entwining the earth

close embraces chillingly damp

rasping the resonance so lost

dancing with the night so alone!

Imaginations and frustrations

wherein many lost in the dark

seeking partners to join in dance

while forgetting which they were

thus circulating the floor over

dancing with illusions over there

nothing seeming reality fair

only without substance light

when surrounding the music

or sirens and gobbling's sad!

Loving the silence of the deep

gracefully moving without pain

hearing the rhythm of the whales

inviting all within their sounds

giving warnings and alarms

calling mates and children all

gathering in to the dance floor

moving swiftly in the currents

dancing with the fishes today!

Awakening in the middle of time

somewhere in space dancing

seeing the stars and moon light

solar systems ever so far away;

Was it in a dream or a new day

deepest depths of the long night

finding all sorts with me prancing

stretched forever in a long line!

Gathering the information

making choices of which

simple solutions able to find

remembering one thing

closer or further from home

the Celestial Kingdom or...;

How many choose wrongly

not knowing our priorities

returning to Father and Son

or deciding really not to care

meaning as if only the wind

believing men and not God!

“Little Time to Choose”

Decisions to be made quick

temptations and revelations

too late for pondering aloud

there is no delays afforded

choices all above recorded

too often too many so proud

locked already in obligations

little time to choose quick!

“Sleeping in Dreams”

Reality based and to fight

screaming and defending

sleeping in dreams alive

unawake but fully awake

seemingly turns and twists

gathering forces to combine

huge waves to overturn

swimming in endless time

sleeping in dreams often

un-awakened and alone!

“Too Many Yesterday’s”

Leaving so much undone

where we thought of today

then of course tomorrows

out lamp oil to refill daily

but sometimes not enough

too many yesterday’s alone

often caught in conflicts

choices difficult to make

while hoping for more time

forgetting to use wisely

what we’ve been given!

“Bitten by the Viper”

Too many in life invite the bite

caring not for their own safety

reckless and frolicking today

running about in nakedness

inviting danger and in sinning

bitten by the viper in their lust

ignoring the pain within drugs

till dead and unmoving gone

having once too often bitten!

“Sailing in Storms”

Jury rigging the sails all

reefing the mainsail

storm jibs raised stout

lifelines attached each

strapping to the tiller

weather gear wet worn

sailing in storms wicked

endeavoring to the course

while ponderous the waves

lifting and punishing life

as youth or the old to be

sailing in storms wildly!

“Gradual”

The incline was very steep

to some to appear sheer

lines and cleats to be used

gradual ones assent upward

others carefully going down

one foot in front of another

carefully staying the course

choosing the right to obey

Zion’s road is straight ahead

without deviations found

no detours and or curves

discerning life in fullness!

“Being Tired”

Wind knocked out the sails

weaving instead of walking

slurring speech a give away

being tired while still to stand

making self to be accountable

actions slowed and a mess

while simply unable to rest

horrific is this mortal test

blessed for all who endure

not so for those who do not!
