“Deals at Our Expense”

Claiming transparency clear

while dwelling in darkness

transparent to who can see

while all the lights are off

back room smoking brew

playing poker with pelf

denying any wrongdoing

deals at our expense

as drugs and sex to smell!

Opening the menu to pick
someone else paying bill
studying with care a choice
much like “A Wonderful Life”
taking all one could eat
or what would be needed
too many entitled care not
taking lobster and top steak
prices to pay for the loser
selfishly unwilling to share
our congress sits today
feigning our nation’s care
while the pork they share!

“They All Loved Her”

In childhood mostly alone

living in relocation camps

GI’s would tussle her hair

give some candy as well

everyone loves a little girl;

As she aged in the USA

a stranger at first to be

studying and learning

attended to with effort

all teachers loved her!

As bride finding of love

eternal and forever

with time a family too

raising children now

who each loved mother;

But most of all to find

little stuffed animals

lowest ranks to highest

small ones to big ones

they all loved her too;

Time is precious in life

a child going too fast

teen’s way too slow

family time too quick

as love is eternal time;

Now having traversed

the veil to the other side

enjoining loved ones

understanding sure

Father loved her true!

“Little Mac”

All of two weeks old

wonderfully cute

welcomed in family

where love presides

her older sister

watching over her

Mackenzie her name

‘little Mac’ for short

each must smile

calling her that

my little sister!

“The Dancer”

Still quite young

but now turned five

a birthday today

musically inclined

plinking notes

dancing all about

acting within

the dancer

full of love!

“Canning Jars”

Such in each season

boiling and preparing

separating lids and caps

harvesting vegetables

washing and cutting

a little salt in each jar

then to fill and process

family all involved

all in lief with reason!

“Warm Sounds”

Busyness in a home

beginning piano

dishes in kitchen

quiet talk to hear

winds and rains

windows quieting

warm sounds

within a home!

“Elastic”

Unwilling to bend

giving not at all

selfishly to stall

evil to wend;

Elastic in lies

rhetoric as pelf

avarice in self

unheard our cries!

“Distant Bottoms”

From the highest peaks

able to see far away

seeing the agates blue

dotting all the land

in distant bottoms

mighty and profound!

“Reckless Danger”

Feigning not to notice

actually caring none

government of liars

signatures or word

as the dung’s smell

doing as they wish

reckless danger oft

killing and stealing

spending all we have

creating only illusions

rust and moth to decay

feigning not to notice!

“From a War Zone”

Whether found in combat

surrounded by enemy

knowing who they are

or lest be found at home

surrounded by enemy

beguiling and unknown;

From a war zone thoughts

salient feelings to share

not sure who might care

to know our enemy here

for surely we’re found

in a war zone at home!

“Dancing Stones”

Underneath great falls

moving quick in a stream

falling from a truck ahead

dancing stones seen;

Going here and there

no choices of their own

nature and men design

for no choices of ours!

‘Armed With a Teddy Bear”

Heard a silent sneaking

just a feathering sound

whispering of smallness

in the early dark dawn

have to warn the others

something pink in the night

thus our first insurgent

of this new year 2013

armed with a teddy bear!
