Too soon to grow up

too soon to be old

too soon to know all

yet thinking you do

forgetting to learn/grow

tight fitting brains

unable to expand

listening to sermons

each Sabbath the same

yet unhearing all

only what’s acceptable

soft doctrine palatable

requiring nothing

for those too soon

thinking they need not

more or even the truth

too soon to be young

too soon to fall down!
