We’re to be the salt of this earth

enriching and enhancing truth

making everything to taste better

in proper proportions as needed;

 

However our words unheeded

instead they are found bitter

unattractive to the folly of youth

who want not to be of royal birth;

 

The salt which can both heal

yet when administered to sting

causing great pain to so many

needful for all to hear and know;

 

As the worldly in darkness grow

thinking they’ve more than plenty

our salt out the window they sling

thus it’s flavor another to steal!
