Immovable in the soil
awaiting rain or snow
shaking of the earth
yet silent and still;

Stillness in the air
hurricanes and storm
tsunamis and hail
yet silent and still;

Harshness of hatred
pounding of the ice
all in fast movement
yet silent and still;

The night calls quiet
inviting one within
serene and closed
yet silent and still;

Still as a stone
life lived in turmoil
hidden but seen
yet silent and still!
